For Multimedia Entries:

1) Write a short note, about 200 words. Include a link to the page.

2) Add media.

Images: To help us archive the best e-Democracy sites, take a screen shot of all or some of the site you are adding, and save it as a jpeg. (Learn how to take a screen shot using Windows here and Mac here). For other images, like pics of your e-Democracy Heroes, make sure you have the rights to use them.

  • In case you don’t find the interface intuitive, follow these instructions:
  • Add your image file to your entry by clicking on the “tree” picture icon in the editor.
  • In the pop-up, click on the “menu” icon button to the right of the “URL” field; this will bring up a window with a “Upload” tab, which you should click.
  • Browse your desktop to find the image file you want to upload, and hit the “Upload” button.
  • When the uploading bar is full, navigate back to the “Browse” tab. Click on your pic and click the “insert” button when you see the original pop-up window

Embedding video: To add a video, simply put the address of the page into your post with “youtube” tags at the beginning and end of it like this:

The following sources of video are also supported, just replace ‘youtube’ (in brackets) with any of the following tags - no spaces, quotes or uppercase letters please: ‘googlevideo’ ‘dailymotion’ ‘vimeo’ ‘veoh’ ‘viddler’ ‘metacafe’ ‘bliptv’ ‘flickrvideo’ ’spike’ ‘myspace’ ‘flv’ ‘quicktime’ ‘videofile’ (for generic or unknown video formats), and ‘flash’ for Flash streams from other sites.

Not all video sizes can be successfully embedded, however. Most original and standard sizes are included.

3) Publish and you’re done.

Thank you!
